Hike the beauty of the Sauerland landscape along different routes. Three major long-distance hiking trails and numerous Prädikat hiking trails lead through the region.

The "Trail of the Senses". 154 km long with a total of 3,931 metres in altitude, it leads from Brilon in the Sauerland, over the Wittgensteiner Land and through the Siegerland to the edge of the Westerwald, where it ends in Dillenburg.

Grandiose views over a total of 250 km from Meinerzhagen to Korbach. One of the most beautiful sections of the route leads through the region of the "Stars in the Sauerland".

This 240 km long trail runs right through the Sauerland hiking region. For the most part, it runs through the impressive Arnsberg Forest Nature Park with its pristine forests.

Eleven works of art by well-known artists can be found along this 23 km hiking trail along the Rothaar ridge. Art in the forest with special emotions, with a tapestry of sounds, with a finger pointing to your own vulnerability, with impressions you will never forget.

"Gold Villages" are villages that have each received a competition prize for a particularly well-kept village image, for a lively village community and sustainable concepts. They are particularly worth seeing, have impressive half-timbered buildings and beautifully tended farm gardens. Ten Gold Village Routes connect these special Sauerland villages and each of them shines with particularly eventful routes.

The "Stars in Sauerland" are located in the places that were certified as the first quality region "Wanderbares Deutschland". These "Sauerland Hiking Villages" belong to the top class of hiking regions in Germany, tested and awarded by the German Hiking Association.
