An apprenticeship that suits your interests

Training to become a chef is a great fit for you if you enjoy hands-on work and want to see the results of your efforts. You enjoy working as part of a team. You’re passionate about fresh and exotic ingredients, and you’re eager to learn how to prepare them in creative and delicious ways. You thrive on action and have the stamina to keep going, even when things get stressful.

You can pursue culinary training regardless of your high school diploma.
The program typically lasts three years. It can be shortened if you perform exceptionally well.

Highlights of the training program

  • You'll learn a lot about food and sustainable food processing and preparation. Meat, fish, vegetarian, or vegan—we cover it all. Cooking is all about creativity!
  • There's plenty of variety in the daily routine; no two days are alike, so boredom is the last thing you'll experience.
  • You have completely flexible working hours; yes, you do work on weekends, but in return you get the weekdays off when others have to work.
  • Everything you learn will come in handy in your personal life, too!
  • And once you've completed your training, the world is your oyster: work and live where others can only go on vacation!

Here's what you'll learn

  • Preparing meals using a wide variety of ingredients, such as vegetables, meat, and fish
  • To prepare soups and sauces, desserts and salads, doughs and creams
  • Planning kitchen workflows
  • Handle purchasing, receiving, and inventory management
  • To determine and calculate costs, revenues, and prices
  • Using food and resources sustainably
  • Ensure proper hygiene and documentation
  • Create menu suggestions and advise guests
  • Working as part of a team and managing your own schedule
