Operational Excellence | Process Optimization | Improving Efficiency at a 5-Star Superior Hotel
An exceptional guest experience begins long before the first guest checks in. It is the result of perfectly coordinated workflows, strong teams, and processes that run smoothly.
At Hotel Deimann, more than 200 employees work every day to create unforgettable vacation experiences for our guests. To ensure this is achieved at the highest level, we are looking for a Director of Operations / Hotel Operations Manager (m/f/d) who doesn’t manage from behind a desk, but is present where our success is made: right in the heart of hotel operations.
They observe workflows, identify opportunities, challenge the status quo, and work with our managers to develop solutions that make day-to-day work more efficient, cost-effective, and successful. Their goal is not simply to manage processes, but to continuously improve them.
Tasks
- You will be working in our operational areas on a daily basis, analyzing workflows, and gaining a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing each department.
- They identify inefficiencies, duplication of effort, unnecessary steps, or waste of resources, and develop sustainable solutions that measurably improve hotel operations.
- They optimize existing processes with the goal of improving quality, simplifying workflows, and at the same time increasing the company's profitability.
- Together with our department heads, you will manage staff scheduling and ensure that employees are assigned to tasks based on workload, productivity, and operational requirements.
- They analyze work schedules, staffing structures, and capacity to ensure an optimal balance between the guest experience, employee satisfaction, and profitability.
- They introduce new standards, processes, and work methods and consistently support their implementation until they are firmly established in day-to-day work.
- They continuously analyze operational metrics and use them to identify specific measures to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
- You will help guide change processes directly on the front lines and support our managers in successfully establishing new structures within their teams.
- They work closely with senior management and serve as a key link between the company's strategic goals and their operational implementation in the day-to-day running of the hotel.
Qualification
- You have several years of experience in an operational management position, ideally in the upscale hospitality industry or a comparable service-oriented sector, as a deep understanding of complex operational processes is essential for this position.
- You have a strong understanding of process management, workforce planning, and business operations because you make decisions every day that directly impact quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- You quickly identify opportunities for optimization and implement changes in a pragmatic and solution-oriented manner, as continuous improvement is a central component of this role.
- You have a strong aptitude for numbers and experience working with key performance indicators, personnel costs, productivity, and capacity utilization, so that decisions can be made based on sound data.
- You enjoy working closely with the teams and view leadership as being present on the front lines, because sustainable improvements can only happen where processes are actually put into practice.
- They impress with their assertiveness, commitment, and clear communication, which enable them to successfully initiate and permanently establish change.
- They think like entrepreneurs, act responsibly, and always maintain a clear overview even in complex situations, ensuring that operational excellence is put into practice every day.
